Celebrations of a lifetime by Sarah Cossey - Independent Celebrant

Each and every human is utterly unique - that's why we deserve personalised celebrations for the milestone days of our lives!

If you invite me to your home, I will share a cup of tea with you, hear about your friends, family, interests, history and anything else that is meaningful to you. I will aim to build a personal relationship with you and learn all about your ideal ceremony. Then, and only then, can I build you a TOTALLY bespoke celebration.

We knew Sarah was the perfect celebrant to lead our service the moment we met her. Our guests loved her just as much and were very moved by the ceremony she provided.

Jane & Andy - Warwickshire

So the first rule to booking an independent celebrant is - THERE ARE NO RULES!!

It's no surprise that Independant Celebrants are becoming so busy! Your ceremony can be held at any time, any place and on any day you wish! The choices are endless!! Together we can create a service without any boundaries other than the extent of your imagination...

Religious ceremonies require you and your guests to pray and make promises to an identified God that you may not believe in. On the other hand Humanist Celebrants require you to reject all religious or spiritual beliefs. In a 'civil' ceremony Registry Offices provide institutional, 'copy and paste' secular services. All of these providers are reflecting their own beliefs and rules - THIS DAY IS ABOUT YOU and should reflect YOUR beliefs.

If you are looking for a ceremony that embraces the diverse beliefs of your family and friendships - An independent celebrant is IDEAL for you!!

Whether it's a naming ceremony, wedding celebration, renewal of vows or a funeral to say farewell - this day should be meaningful and memorable for all the best possible reasons.

What is included in my services?

A phone call is usually my first contact with clients as they call to check my availability and for a very quick chat about their plans.

Following that we will arrange a free introductory meeting during which I can answer any questions you may have and get to know you a little better.

If you would like to go ahead with your booking then you will be asked to sign a contract and forward the booking fee to secure your date in my diary.

At our next meeting (for funerals this will follow immediately on from our introductory meeting if you wish) I will encourage you to tell me lots of information about yourselves and your loved ones so that I can help to design a ceremony that is unique to you.

Following that meeting I will dedicate myself to writing a personalised script for your service, which will be forwarded to you for any edits you wish to make.

Wedding ceremonies / Exchange of Vows / Namings may require a third meeting to be arranged and I will always be available on the phone if you would like to chat through the finer details.

Of course on the day I will support you through the ceremony and be a friendly face for you to turn to and your ceremony will be led by someone you have a built a personal connection with.

Naming and Family Ceremonies
Welcome a new person into your family. Celebrate the birth or adoption of a child or celebrate as two families blend into one. Perhaps you want to assign a new name to yourself? - Let's celebrate together!
Wedding and Blessing ceremonies
The most fabulous day of your life should be one that everyone attending will remember for many years to come. I always feel privileged to be invited to create a bespoke service for each couple.
Funerals and Farewells
A good funeral should first and foremost be personal and meaningful. It should give the bereaved an opportunity to share stories of their loved one and offer a healing process to all involved
